Anyone else feel this way?
Forum: Day 8

I read the Bible in 90 days last year and I am amazed at all the things I seem to be reading for the first time. The story of the crossing of the Jordan is the most dramatic example of this so far!

The story is compelling and I cannot believe I did not appreciate it last year. The faith of the Levites as the carried the Ark into the raging river, the miraculous stoppage of the water. Such a great example of God's mighty support for his people.

Forum: Day 16

The concept of the "avenger of blood" is interesting. That and the cities of refuge were concepts I first learned of in Hawaii. When an ancient Hawaiian broke a "kapu" they would often be killed as punishment. However if they could reach the Place of Refuge the priest could forgive them and they could resume normal life.

Interesting that the ancient cultures allowed self-help punishments, but placed a limit on it. In ancient Israel, if one was not guilty of intentional murder they needed to get to a city of refuge to avoid being killed by the avenger of blood.

Forum: Day 14

Hello everyone. I am from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. When I was 19 I was hitchinking in British Columbia and three young men from Oral Roberts University came up to Canada on a witnessing trip. They gave me a ride and shared Christ with me. After conversing with them and asking them all kinds of questions we pulled over to the side of the road and they led me in surrendering my life to Jesus Christ. I love to read and study my Bible. I am excited about the 90 day program and am looking forward to getting to know many of you through the forums. Have great day and be richly blessed.

Forum: Welcome

2 Days ago I completed my first time with Bible in 90 Days. It was a challenging, inspiring, and wonderful journey. It was so good that I am highly recommending it to my friends and fellow church members as our church heads into it together beginning Sunday, September 12th! I can not wait to share this journey with others, learn from their insights, and gain from another trip through God's Word. My husband and I read it through with pilot group at our church as we are EXCITED to share the next trip beginning in a few weeks. Join us, won't you? I made a post about it at my blog:
http://www.kniteang.blogspot.com

Tulsa, OK

Forum: Overall Experience in Review

I've been part of a pilot group in our church this summer for a test run of the Bible in 90 Days. The numbers dwindled greatly but 3 of us will cross the finish line in just a few days, this being day number 75!

For me it has been a wild ride. I read the Bible annually in 12 months, this rapid read has shown me things I never saw before and I appreciate the different perspective. . . we will start a church wide B90 in mid-September. I'm praying now for those whose hearts will be drawn to join us in this speed ride through all of God's Word. I pray it will produce in them a knowledge of God they have yet to have had and a desire to know Him more.

Denise

Forum: Day 75
